I always thought Zech.12:2 which states …”Jerusalem will be a stumbling stone to all nations …”was more about land give away by Israel but now I see it also includes even them building in Jerusalem. Two explosive packages originating from Yeman bound to Chicago (the home state and political base of our President) were thankfully confiscated last Friday, but only due to a specific tip off from Saudi Arabia who provided consignment numbers of the packages. The worrisome point is that it did get through customs in Dubai as well as the British East Midlands airport and others proving to AlQueda they are able to infiltrate the mail industry. The Security department wonders if there are other packages that did go further or how many more will be coming soon. The imposition of heightened security for air cargo comparable to that already applied to passenger traffic would throw the mail industry into chaos, causing extreme financial losses and disrupting an important branch of the Western economy. These economic losses alone would be accounted by al Qaeda a major success ,at very little cost to itself.
Just when you can’t imagine that it can get worse for Israel, it does. Now, Obama says and the international community agrees that Israel can lease the land that they give up to the Muslims for up to 99 years. What? Now they have to pay even more money to the Palestinians to live on their own land. Doesn’t this sound like the Mafia? It’s a set trap for Israel. If the Netanyahu government rejected this outright, it would give the other side more ammunition for its charge that the Israelis are not interested in making peace. If Israel agrees to the idea of leasing the land, it would be irreversibly acknowledging that ownership of it is not the Jews’. Obama is surely desperate to say he was the one to negotiate a so-called peace in the Middle East. At least by 2012
Are you letting the “cares of this life” keep you from studying God’s Word? We as a church often read this verse (Lk.21:34) and think it cannot apply to us because it begins with carousing and drunkenness, thus skimming over the “cares of this life” that really do consume our time. Born-again Christians, just thirty years ago, had set priorities that overruled time spent with friends and even family birthdays if it coincided with God’s time, like Bible study, going to church for Sunday and Wednesday services and even week long revivals that came to town. Today, most (not all) find it difficult to go to church on the weekend let alone attend a Bible study during the week. Yes, I know this is prophesied to happen, but let me caution you on a personal level, it’s not a good thing! Why not be part of the remnant who desire to know the deeper truths of God. Only through study can you achieve this. Join a good verse by verse Bible study and cut into the meat of His Word. Since Jesus says He is the “Spirit of Prophecy” (Rev.19:10) try a book of one of the prophets. Shofar Assembly conducts a twice a month study (can also listen to archived radio programs for those who live too far)and can help you understand some of the more difficult passages. After awhile those difficult areas will seem like eating apple pie. Of course, there will always be more steak to chew on. Heb.5:12-14 tells us we need solid food if we want to discern between good and evil. And since the prophesy of Isaiah 5:20 is now in full force, spiritual maturity is a must in these last days. So wake up and put God first on your priority list. There will always be another birthday or family function to attend or a sale you think you can’t pass up. And lastly, you can’t be an effective witness without total sanctification that can only come through studying His Word. And that’s a fact, church. 1Thes.5:23***
The Catholic Church has for years been trying to repair its image as an institution steeped in anti-Semitism and now it has. Replacement Theology is alive and well which teaches that God has tossed aside the Jews, despite is irrevocable promises to them, and that “the Church” has instead inherited those promises.The main discussion at a recent two week meeting at the Vatican was how Israel is the cause of all the Mid-East problems.The Greek Archbishop Bustros is quoted as saying: “the Holy Scriptures cannot be used to justify the return of Jews to Israel…”He then escalated the situation by declaring that the original promises made by God to the children of Israel “were nullified by Christ. There is no longer a chosen people.” How sad is this?
Just found out that a secret subterranean Iranian Missile facility incurred a triple blast on Tues. destroying a large number of launchers and rendering it unfit for further use. At least 18 of Iran’s revolutionary guards were killed and 14 seriously injured. Again as in the virus Stuxnet, it was an inside (hand rigged) job. Iran is only saying it was caused by a fire. The very angry Achmadinejad knew of this while in Lebanon this week when he said Israel was destined to disappear. He can say all he wants but we know God has a plan.
